just make sure you are in polygon mode (instead of points) and then go into
statistics menu ( I'm not in front of Lightwave right now) anyhow last
top menu button and near the bottom on the left menu.
If you are in polygon mode, you can select the surface you're wanting to
select and click on + for polygons in surface... it's vauge but that's
how it's done...
